Custard Dreams

I love this recipe, it's a fast and tasty little biscuit that's great for a morning tea or tea party with the kids.

What you need...
  • 185 grams of softened butter
  • 1/3 a cup of icing sugar
  • a teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1/3 cup od custard powder.
How you do it...
  • preheat you oven to 180 degrees.
  • Cream the butter sugar and vanilla together using an electric beater until the mixture is pale and fluffy
  • Sift in the flour and custard powder, and using a wooden spoon stir it through to form a soft dough.
  • Usually at this point I pop the dough into a piping bag with a 1.5cm star nozzle and pipe out some star shapes, but seeing as I have a 16 week Klingon baby today I have opted to just use my one free hand and roll some balls and flatten them out a touch. You can also add some sugar decorations now or like we did today, cover some in hundreds and thousands.
  • After you have shaped or piped the your dough onto a greased or baking paper lined baking tray pop them into the fridge to firm up for 20 mins.
  • Bake for about 12 mins until golden brown.
  • Cool and Eat!!!
So there you go a quick light mini biscuit treat!
Happy baking
